The process for counties and municipalities to submit their Annual Financial Information Report (AFIR) is changing. Beginning with FY2024 AFIRs, the U.S. Census Bureau will no longer be providing a website for AFIR uploads. Department of State Treasurer staff is working on an alternate method for submission and details will be announced soon.
Please note:
- AFIRs will still be required of counties and municipalities – only the method of submission is changing.
- Details on the new method of submission will be announced soon.
- Any prior year AFIRs (FY2023 and prior) should be emailed to AFIR@nctreasurer.com.
- AFIRs must be submitted by all counties and municipalities; other unit types are not required to submit this report.
- North Carolina Administrative Code sets a deadline for the AFIR as October 31st of each year; LGC staff cannot extend this due date.
